Author has Better Things to do than Shop on Ebay...Really!
I can't help it. Sometimes, my friends don't update their blogs fast enough, and I've read all the news, and so when I give myself a little study break, I have no choice (NONE!) but to surf on ebay and Craig's List. I buy very few things online, but ever since the armoire situation (which is continuing by the way--thank you to those of you who have provided me with leads, but I still haven't found one) I've been a craig's list junkie. The other day I found this pink wool Jackie-O-esque suit in my closet that I bought in Boston about five years ago and have never worn. Why? I don't know. What a travesty. So I pulled it out and wore it yesterday and felt pretty cool. Also I decided I needed more suits like that. Since I don't have a current ebay account, I made Shad bid on two more suits. Well I just found out that this one has exceeded my maximum bid ($25) and I'm pretty sad. Check it out, it's pretty darn cool. It's okay, I'll be okay.... I did win the other one.
I thought maybe I would make David (the other clerk in my office) a Peeps garland for a going-away gift. He's leaving after school to work for the UNHCR in Washington DC. So, so lucky. Someone was giving away three boxes of Peeps on Craig's list. I emailed him, but he said they had been claimed within one hour. I don't know if stores are still carrying Peeps, even on clearance. Does anyone have some? Stale is good, they'll string together better that way. Just let me know if you have any leads.

I remember a pink suit Anna. You wore it when you came to see me in Maryland after I had back surgery. Unless you have two pink suits?
I'll check the commissary for Peeps. Trust me, if it is stale, our commissary has it. Love ME
Oh, I remember that. That was a light pink knee-length jacket. I love that jacket, still have it but it's a tad snug these days. This suit is different, it's a hot pink two-piece. The suit I bid on is "fuschia"--the suit I won is "deep pink."
Catch a theme? Pathetic, I know. I'm into pink these days.
If the commissary has peeps, you totally have to pick them up! But don't send them, I'm sure postage will cost 50x more than the peeps. Just keep them in a closet somewhere and we'll eat them next time we come visit!
If stocking up on Peeps will ensure you come visit, I'm going to every commissary in Germany!
Seriously though, Peeps won't cost much to mail if I can find them AND get your father-in-law (who works AT the post office) to bring home some customs forms. I can't leave them in the closet, I'll eat them. I love hard Peeps.
Seriously, who of your friends has not been updating regularly?
Ahhh....Peeps. Target in the Quarry has a boat load of them discounted. In all of new colors...purple and blue? Come on - stick with yellow and pink. There was even this new fangled "color your own egg" Peep contraption. It's getting just too confusing with all of the choices. I think it's just wrong.
First of all, YOU, JULIE, are totally responsible for my recent ebay bids. So please start updating on a more regular basis.
Thanks to mother-in-law for the offer of the peep load-up! But hang tight, if LA runs down to the quarry this week, maybe she'll pick some up for me on clearance?
Of course, I will post a photo of the peeps garland once it is created. It will be a few weeks, at least.
Mother-in-law--no need to go to the comissary! LA is picking up the peeps for me tomorrow. Phwew. Thanks to everyone who rallied around to help with this situation. However, if anyone wants to send Peeps anyway, I will gladly accept them. I was thinking of doing historical reenactments/making diaramas with them? Also will make peep garlands on demand for anyone who supplies peeps (but you have to wait 'til summer)(so I guess it's not really "on demand")(but sort of).
LA, don't fall for Anna's "harness the power of the internet" puppetry tricks. She thinks she can sit at her laptop from school and control the nature of the universe. Simon Delivers, Netflix, and now LA, you're all her playthings....if she clicks it, they will come.
She's like God here, if God was Steven Hawking in a vintage pink pant suit.
Shad--I command you to do the laundry.
I don't believe you exist.
Shad probably thinks you are just paper, ink and glue....
Isn't Craigslist the best? It is all the rage out here. I got my apartment through it.
Things I want to see a picture of:
The pink coat
All of the recently dumster dive chairs
the peeps necklace
Ang,
You and I go to the Internet for COMPLETELY different pictures.
Oh, Anna! That e-bay suit is so very lovely. I'm sorry you lost the bid. In case everyone doesn't know, I whole heartedly support Anna's clothes buying, especially since (1) we wear close to the same size and (2) she's VERY gernerous and allows her poor law school friends to borrow her clothes.
Anna, I promise I'll get your blouse back to you ASAP.
-s.
once me and maureen made a peeps purse. we made a purse out of cardbaord (similar to the astroturf purses i used to make) and hot glued peeps all over it. it was a one time use kind of purse.
That is so rad. It makes me even sadder about missing out on the peeps this year. *sigh*
