Minneapolis Couple Solicits Help of Friends and Family to Find Perfect Armoire
With our new tenant in the guest bedroom, Shad's clothes have been displaced, forced into entry closet. Will paint and/or refinish--the cheaper the better. Let us know if you have any leads!

Anna, you aren't giving the complete story here.
We HAVE a bedroom closet and big bedroom dresser that could easily fit all of the clothes that either of us have worn in the last two years. I think two years ia good cut-off point, because it allows me to keep my starship uniform, ninja costume, and other formal wear out and available. Anything else we should maybe pack up or give away.
You have clothes on fresh rotation that you have never ever worn, ever...Stuff that you feel will flatter you if you ever woke up with blonde hair and cocoa skin or if you just lost a few inches...in height.
The closet is packed with shoes. Shoes could go in the entry way closet right? No, that's apparently where my shirts now go. Because you don't want to go all the way to the entry way to "try shoes on."
Try shoes on once, and barring freaky piano wire chick from Audition, you're set.
You also have a bulk of scarves, apparently in case France invades and wins, that could easily go into the basement with the rest of our Apocalypse scenario. This way I'd have a place to put my socks that now have to go in the oven drawer because you took our cookie sheet money to buy more scarves.
I'm fine that my old shoes go in the garage, ties and belts under the family room couch, and underwear gets rolled between the wall where the insulation pulled away, but I'd sort of like easy access to my pajama pants.
For pajama pants we need an Armoire?
ANNA, DO NOT CAVE IN! HUSBANDS REALLY ONLY NEED ONE PAIR OF JEANS AND A FEW T-SHIRTS. OH, AND SOME UNDERWEAR. I THINK IT'S A WONDERFUL USE OF SPACE TO PUT THEM WHERE THE INSULATION IS NO MORE.
Have you checked out the Salvation Army over by Geek Squad lately? Their bargain basement is now the Target-mostly-furniture-outlet, and it has some interesting things that I haven't seen in the stores.
I agree with Julie - husbands really don't need that many clothes, and most of them will wear the same outfit the 3 times in one week if it's clean and not even think twice.
We got our armoire at 5 Day Furniture in glorious Bloomington and use it for our TV. They have lots to choose from, some are not that expensive. Slumberland Clearance center is also a good one - on Central N. in Columbia Heights next to Rainbow Foods. There is always Ikea.

Oh! Try looking on Craig's list from time to time. Everything pops up there.

Anna, while I agree Shad doesn't need half of the closet space, he ought to get a quarter of it. Shad, you wear pajamas? Sheesh... Sleep naked and the storage problem is solved...
We know where to shop for furniture, we just don't want to. We want everyone else to do the work.
Julie, remember when you called us the morning of your wedding day to tell us you found us a couch? Something like that....
SO everyone get off your lazy Internet asses and find us an Armoire.
anna, have you been to homegoods at harmar mall? it is fabulous and they had armoires when i was there on sunday with my mom. check it out!!!!!!!
Is it super cheap? I can't afford a new armoire.
ok, you want an armoire super cheap. i will put my mom on the job. actually, you can talk to her yourself at my party. she is an EXPERT thrifter and will look for specific things if asked.
