Sushi

Took a break from studying at 7pm to have dinner with Shad, Dave & Jen at Midori's Floating Island Restaurant on Lake Street. Had some delicious sushi and tempura shrimp and vegetables.

After dinner had to run across the river to Greg's (my boss) house to drop off the exhibit for the hearing tomorrow. I always get out of whack in St. Paul. I know it's psychological. For the most part the streets are nice and straight but I feel like I never know where I am. The streets names have no reason. At least in Minneapolis they're alphabetical, numerical, chronological Presidents, etc.

Have a paper due Tues--can't seem to get working on it. Have been a little bit cranky all day. Should probably just go to bed and do the paper tomorrow. Am sick of being at the library.

I'm a St. Paul girl, and I admit that my city is chaotic. Not only are the street names not alphabetized, but the numbered streets are no help, either. For example, 342 Robert Street is between First Street and Second Street, not between Third and Fourth. I remember how relieved I was to move to Minneapolis during grad school and find out how easy it was to find places compared to my beloved, but backward, St. Paul.

Thank you for saying that about the numbers. That was a major part of my frustration last night. The street number I was looking for was 1400, which should be on the CORNER, but no, it was in the middle of the block. I kept driving back and forth and was getting so flustered.

It should be said, though, that St. Paul has some really beautiful homes.

(Thanks for posting, Linda! I didn't know you were reading!)
